    full body massage manual

Gently massage the scalp using firm, circular motions with your fingers and move your hands gently over the top of their scalp, down the back of the head and into the nape of the neck. Work the base of the skull using circular motions up the back of the neck until you reach the hairline. Then return your fingers back downwards and repeat a few times. This is good for removing fatigue and tension. Squeeze the trapezius muscle very gently (this is at the base of the neck) and work for your hands slowly outward toward the shoulders. Then, place your hands on either side of the shoulders and roll your hands backward and forwards, applying pressure. Repeat this a few times, increasing the pressure. Work inward toward the spine, applying pressure using your thumbs, then move back outward and repeat a few times. It’s now time to move to the upper back muscles. Turn the head to one side and massage one side of the neck and then gently move the head to the other side, repeating the message on the other side. Use your thumbs and press firmly while massaging the palms. Press into the palm and use pressure moving outward towards the side of the hand. Then move onto the arms and use long, smooth strokes using fingers and palms from the wrist to the shoulder. The strokes should move upwards. Repeat a few times and move over to the other side’s hand and arm. Pay attention to feet as they work hard every day, often aching at the end of the day. Use firm pressure with your thumb on the arches and ball of the foot. Stroke the top of the foot with your thumb using long, slow and firm movements from the tips of the toes to the ankle. Foot Reflexology Massage Benefits Then repeat a few times, lightening the pressure. Repeat underneath the foot. Then, it’s time to rotate the ankle gently back and forth. Turn the foot slowly at the ankle in each direction a few times. This reduces stiffness. Then, pull each toe gently sliding your fingers in between each toe.

Finish by sliding your five fingers in between the five toes and moving them backward and forwards, gently but firmly. Repeat a few times. Change over to the other foot and repeat steps above. Then move onto the legs. Using firm strokes, massage upwards from ankle to knee and then from knee to thigh. Make a fist with each hand, then rub the knuckles gently but firmly across the tops of the shoulders, to release any tension, When you're done with the feet, move onto the back of the legs. Give each leg a couple of long, relaxing strokes to begin with, all the way from the calf to the upper thigh. Use a kneading technique (like kneading bread) to work the calf muscle. Then press the heel of your hand into the skin and very slowly move it along the thigh. You should always move in the direction of the heart. Use the effleurage technique described above to perform long, soft strokes, going from the top of the glutes to the base of the neck. When you reach the top of the back, fan your hands outwards across the shoulders, as if outlining the top of a heart. These areas tend to build up a lot of tension, so make sure to spend some time here. This involves pressing your fingertips firmly into the flesh of the back before quickly releasing. Then, take each finger in turn and slowly slide from the knuckles to the nail. Pull each finger firmly, but not so hard that you cause it to crack! For added pleasure, use your nails to scratch slightly. Then use your fingertips to gently swipe along the contours of the cheekbones and not. Use your fingers to find the small hollows when the neck meets the base of the skull. Apply firm pressure with your fingertips, then release. Repeat several times. Now, gently press the center of the forehead (between the eyebrows) with your fingertips and release. Repeat for 30 seconds. The temples are an important acupressure point, so this helps to relieve tension. That will help your client or partner feel relaxed and refreshed. The focus is on the feet, legs, hips, back, neck, shoulders, arms, hands and, occasionally, the face. However, it is standard practice to include at least the majority of the body area when giving a full body massage. Remember to stay within the scope of your training to provide a safe and beneficial full body massage experience. Do a skin patch test before the intake interview to check for an allergic reaction. Do not proceed until you have clearance from the patient's physician if there are serious health issues. Position the client comfortably and securely on the massage table with a towel or sheet in place to provide privacy and warmth. Begin with long, smooth effleurage strokes from the ankle to the knee or hip to spread the lotion and begin to warm the tissue. Finish the first leg with a return to long, slow strokes, and then move to the other leg and repeat. Use fingers, knuckles, wrists or elbows to work more deeply after the tissue is lubricated and warmed. Return to the long, soothing strokes to finish the back massage. If the client wants you to ease up on the pressure you must do so according to BreastCancer.org. Use the long, slow effleurage strokes much as you did with the legs. Alternate the more intense, deeper work of petrissage, compression and friction with a wringing motion if you can support the weight of the client's arm in your hands. Finish with the effleurage strokes and move to the opposite arm.

Move to the end of the table near the client's head and reach under the neck to comb the fingers upward from the back to the base of the skull. Stroke across the upper chest and collarbone area but avoid the throat area on the front of the neck. Perform this portion of the massage seated at the head of the massage table if you cannot stand comfortably while working with the facial muscles. Continue up the jawline and around behind the ears with the small friction circles. Use this same stroke on the client's temples, but lighten the pressure. Work with the feet last to avoid spreading bacteria to the rest of the body. Always wash your hands immediately after working with the client's feet to avoid contamination of other surfaces. Roll and lightly pull each toe. Use the pads of your thumbs to provide circular friction to the sole of the client's foot and heel area. Going back and forth between multiple people will prevent you from doing this, as would doing two people simultaneously. A must buy.I dont need readers digest large print but normal print size would have been greatly appreciatedThe informations are so helpful. Although massages with a professional masseuse have many benefits and feel fantastic, because they're educated to know exactly how to work and untangle your body and even your mind, can you imagine if your partner could do that, too. Touch also signifies: you are safe, I am here, you are not alone. Also know that touching and being touched have the same benefits and so the giver is also receiving the same benefits. But if you're able to make it there, the bedroom is preferred, says Abergas. 2 Set The Mood Well, of course, no matter what location you end up choosing, you want to set the mood. Giving your partner a massage under fluorescent lights with the TV on in the background really isn't going to set an atmosphere conducive to relaxing. You want it to be dim lighting, imagine a romantic candlelight dinner, soft music playing, maybe even your partner's favorite chill album, light a scented candle — think more lavender -scented than cinnamon pumpkin pie. And you don't want anything super slippery either that there's not enough skin on skin contact. No one wants chilly oil dumped on their back. Then continue to spread the oil throughout the back, down along the muscles of the spine, with no pressure on the spine itself. When you get to the base of the spine, separate your hands and move along the waist as if you're going to grab the waist. But you're not. You're not going 0-60 here. They can feel your intention. Find your rhythm and breathe. This will ease any tension in their neck form laying on their stomach.

Firm pressure, stroke, rhythmically and simultaneously. If their ticklish, apply firmer pressure. The softer your touch the more ticklish it is. And now finish off by grabbing one foot at a time with both hands. And move your hands up and down as you squeeze and wring out any tension. Whether your massage ends up being foreplay for more and way to relax your partner into a sleep, it's still an intimate experience that partners should consider giving a try. All rights reserved. If you know what music your massage recipient likes, then that is even better. Smells are also important for the atmosphere and the general feeling. Lighting candles can lend a relaxing mood to any space, and dimming the lights will help with this as well. Make sure not to use a very strong scent—something light and neutral is better. It is also important to keep the room warm enough and to have a comfortable massaging surface. You can use store-bought oils, but natural oils such as sunflower, almond, jojoba or grape seed will work too. Plus, they smell nice.

If you are a fan of essential oils, you can add a few drops of those as well, but make sure that they are pure and gentle, and do not use them on anyone who is pregnant. Lastly, make sure your hands are not freezing if you do not want to shock the massage recipient. Because it is easier to massage someone who is in their undergarments, you can also cover your subject with a towel for their comfort and warmth. Additionally, keep a small towel nearby to wipe off your hands when they start to accumulate too much oil. Avoid pressing your fingers into the subject’s collarbone. Next, press and release along the recipient’s neck up to their hairline. Then use your knuckles to rub the tops of your subject’s shoulders, and return to the press and release technique. Massage the sole with your thumbs, giving extra time to the arches because this is where most of the strain accrues, then move to the heel and the ball of the foot. Pull each toe gently to release pressure. Finish the legs by applying pressure with the heel of your hand and moving it slowly up the thigh. Knead the lower back muscles on each side of the spine, and then press and release up the entire back. Ask the massage recipient to bend their elbows because that makes their shoulder blades more prominent, and then use your thumbs to press and release on the knots around the shoulder blades. Pull each finger gently, but firmly. Request that your subject lie on his or her back, and massage their scalp with your thumbs. You can also give them a light head scratch if you wish. Rub the folds and lobe of their ears with your thumb and forefinger, and then use your fingertips to apply firm pressure to the hollows where the neck joins with the base of the skull. Press and release several times. Place your hands under their jaw and lift their head gently, stretching their neck muscles. Use your fingertips to press and release the spot between their eyebrows for a few 30-second intervals.

Finish by massaging the temples with languid, circular motions. Try not to break contact with the subject’s skin to maintain a good flow during the massage. If it is not too uncomfortable for your subject, try to work out any knots that you find by rotating your fingers with increasing pressure in opposite directions. Do not massage the spine or any bones. The combination of correct technique and a pleasant-smelling room with mood lighting is guaranteed to be relaxing. But remember, if all of this sounds like a bit too much effort, there is always the option of buying a best massage chair. However, a massage done by hand is more intimate and builds a stronger connection and bond with the recipient of the massage, making it a great choice for anyone who is looking to get closer to his or her partner.
